Something NEW!

This spring, the Indian Theatre Directors are introducing a series of Tribal Grounds Productions. We will often use the format of Coffee House but with a twist! :)

Our aim is to provide more performance and technical opportunities to our growing department.

We will be inviting 8th graders/prospective Select students to many of these events, including this one. AND, we want to recruit and retain you in our department!!!

As with all Tribal Grounds Production, your participation is your ticket to the Lock-in!

Here is how auditions will work:
~ this event will take place in the blackbox
~ these will be student directed scenes
~ you are eligible to direct and audition your scene if you are currently enrolled in a Production class
~ you are eligible to act in these scenes if you are currently enrolled in Production or Select
~ you are NOT eligible to direct or act if you are a lead in OAP or in 39 Steps
~ the proposed scenes may be no longer than 10 minutes
~ the proposed scenes must have between 2-4 actors with a proportionate number of Pro and Select students (we want fish to work with upperclassmen)
~ the student directors will have a DRAFT in the blackbox after school on Jan 19
~ the audition process will be cold readings followed by the draft under the direction of Ms. Fields
~ you may choose your scene beforehand, or wait to see who you “win” in the draft
~ scenes must be school appropriate and geared toward an 8th grade audience
~ no scenes with inappropriate content or language will be considered for the showcase
~ you may use TWO STOOLS only
~ you many not have costumes, makeup, set or special lighting
~ Ms. Fields will oversee the production of the program
~ you must audition your scene with any of the directors (Freeman, Shirley or Fields) by Friday, Feb 12 to be considered for the showcase
~ it is your responsibility to schedule your audition
~ each group will be responsible for arranging their own rehearsal times and places (you are welcome to work in the FAC area, hallways and classrooms after school each day until 6)
~ we anticipate choosing about ten scenes
~ we will have scenes in the lobby
~ you are encouraged to use our script library to choose your scenes
~ we will not approve movie scenes or skits
