Students and Faculty,
Saturday, November 5th I will be hosting a Mock Audition workshop.
When: 9am – 11am (Times may be adjusted due to number of participants)
Where: Central High School Theatre/Auditorium
Who: All KISD Seniors and Juniors are invited to attend, especially those that will be participating in NTDAs (tell your friends, and their friends!!)
What to Prepare: Two contrasting pieces for an audition; Can be two monologues or a monologue and a song.
Price and Sign Up: There is a $10 fee for the workshop. Each auditionee should email me at the address below. Checks or cash can be collected on the day or any time before. Each auditionee that emails me will receive an audition number, and that’s the order we will use for the day.
Things to Keep in Mind: There will be an accompanist provided on the day. All those that are doing a song for this workshop must have emailed a scanned PDF or handed me a hard copy of their song no later than Monday Oct. 31st, no exceptions. Those performing a song must also bring a copy of said song with them on the day for the accompanist.
The doors will be open no later than 8:30a, and we will start with the first audition at 9a. Make sure you are mentally, physically, and vocally warmed up.
This will be treated like a real auditon in structure and attire. There will be 3 people onstage at a time: one auditioning, one on deck, and one in the hole. During the audition, auditionees are welcome (and encouraged) to sit in the audience and watch others until it is their time to get into the lineup, and after their audition. Auditionees should also dress appropriately for the audition.
After everyone has auditioned, the auditionees will receive a little bit of feedback from myself.
If there are any questions please feel free to contact me.
